The Charlatans Frontman Tim Burgess Talks ‘Modern Nature’ With Drowned In Sound | Interviews

 

Recently Drowned In Sound (DiS) caught up with The Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess to talk about their new album and the influences that inspired it. Tim talks about the recording process in terms of getting new drummers such as New Order’s Stephen Morris among a couple of others, involved due to the illness of their past drummer Jon Brookes who died of cancer in 2013 aged 44. Tim also reveals the mechanics of the song writing and gives a behind the scenes take of the albums creative progress. The Charlatans new album titled Modern Nature is their 12th studio album and is due to be released late January next year. The band is also embarking on a short UK tour to support the album beginning in March 2015.
