Joel and Ethan Coen’s filmography definitely has an odd mix of tone and style. The critically-acclaimed brothers have a penchant for fluctuating between gritty, harrowing dramas (No Country For Old Men, True Grit) and wacky oddball comedies (O Brother, Where Art Thou? and Raising Arizona). Their next feature, Hail, Caesar!, is firmly grounded in the comedy camp.

The film is set in the 1950s golden age of Hollywood, where the studios were dominated by Gene Kelly-style musicals and historical epics. George Clooney plays Baird Whitlock, one of Tinseltown’s biggest stars who is kidnapped while filming his latest opus, ‘Hail, Caesar!‘. Eddie Mannix (Josh Brolin), a ‘studio fixer’, is put on the case to try to track down the unfortunate A-lister and retrieve him from his captors.

The film appears to have the biggest all-star cast of any of the duo’s films in recent memory. The list includes some Coen regulars, such as Clooney, Brolin and Francis McDormand, as well as some new faces including Ralph Fiennes, Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum.

Watch the first trailer for the film below. The film opens in UK cinemas on February 26, 2016, and in US cinemas on February 5, 2016.
