Season 2 of The Flash has been flirting with the idea of going bigger and better than ever before and this episode may be the first to really hit that mark when Barry, Cisco and Harry decide to go straight to earth-2 in a last ditch attempt to find Harry’s daughter Jesse and bring her back to Wells.

This episode is essentially broken down into two stories. On one hand you have Barry, Harry and Cisco traversing through earth-2 and meeting the doppelgängers of everyone in an absurdly convenient way, and on the other hand you have Caitlyn, Joe and Jay trying to figure out how to take down a throw away villain whose name I have completely forgotten even after minutes of watching the episode, needless to say the former was the reason to watch this week and not the latter.

Despite my earlier jab at the idea that the three most likeable characters of Team Flash could travel to another dimension and within a few hours meet everyone important in their life and learn some very interesting facts about the multiverse, these scenes of the episode remained consistently entertaining, even despite some horrible acting.

The only criticism I really have about the earth-2 story is that it is somewhat predictable but at the same time really makes it hard to guess who Zoom really is, now that we’ve seen a lot of the earth-2 counter parts of people in Barry’s life.

Back on earth-1 we learn more Jays past and about his powers were lost and we even see him once again don his ridiculous costume but his story was greatly outshined by everything that was happening in an another galaxy far far away. If Cisco can make random movie references, why cant I?

8/10
