Okay… Now when I first heard about The Hobbit being made into three films I was baffled as it was a shorter book than any of the Lord of the Rings novels. But now they have surprised me again as the final scene of the movie is a 45 minute battle sequence!? After new details of the final Hobbit instalment were released today, this one has stood out most to fans. With the battle taking place at the foot of the Lonely Mountain, where many armies will fight to the death to reclaim the treasure guarded by Smaug.
Jackson revealed, “we have dwarves and men and elves and orcs, all with different cultures, with different weapons, and different shields and patterns and tactics“. It was also revealed that the Eagles will make an appearance in the fight scene as they are “part of the plan, not the saviours“. Will the fight sequence become dull after a while, or will it keep us on the edge of our set until the credits roll? We will need to wait and see on 12 December, 2014.
