The Libertines Announce ‘Somewhere Over The Railings’ Album Launch Week At The Dublin Castle | Music News

Earlier today, The Libertines announced that their ‘week of shenanigans’, to celebrate the release of their highly anticipated third album titled Anthems for Doomed Youth, will take place at The Dublin Castle in Camden, beginning on the 31st of August until the album’s release on the 4th of September.

The event, otherwise known as ‘Somewhere Over the Railings’ includes a photography exhibition, a pub quiz, a playback of the album, a documentary screening of the band’s time in Thailand by Roger Sergant, and a ‘very special release day event’; with all proceeds going to the Rock ‘N’ Roll Rescue charity. On top of this, they stated that regional playbacks will also be happening throughout the UK, with the proceeds of these events going to the Amy Winehouse Foundation.

With Anthems for Doomed Youth being the first studio album released by the band since 2004, it is not much of a surprise that this event sold out in less than five minutes, and it is fair to say that their epic comeback has been far from a Horror Show. The Libertines’ new single “Gunga Din” can be purchased from iTunes, and Anthems For Doomed Youth can be pre-ordered here.
