Tkay Maidza Shares New Single ‘Syrup’ | Music News

 

Zimbabwean-born Australian singer and rapper Tkay Maidza has released a brand new single “Syrup”! It is Tkay’s third single this year following “Kim” featuring Yung Baby Tate and her cover of “Where Is My Mind” originally by Pixies.

 

Tkay raps on her adjective aspirations: “rich, thick, sweet, sick, syrup“. Its groovy beat and heavy bass takes the listener right to the flexing  wave of the artist. The track was produced by Dan Faber and is already available on all music platforms!

 

Apart from hip-hop, Maidza also works with synthpop and electronic music. She started her career at the age of 17 with her debut single “Brontosaurus” produced by BadCop. Since then she has released EP Switch Tape. In 2016, Maidza’s track “MOB” became her first song to be played on Australian commercial radio.

 

Moreover, Tkay was even featured in Australian Vogue magazine and the French Magazine Konbini in 2015. Last year in May Tkay announced that she had signed a deal with acclaimed British label 4AD. The deal was followed by “Shook” single which was praised by NME and Rolling Stone.

 

The rapper is expected to release Last Year Was Weird Volume 3 as a part of her EP/mixtape series. The upcoming EP will feature “Syrup” as the lead track .Confirmed by Tkay the anticipated project does not have official release date yet.
