Tom Holland Stars As Army Medic In New Movie ‘Cherry’ | Film News

You may not remember Tom Holland for his early performance in The Impossible, however you will certainly know him as the man behind the mask, having played the most recent rendition of Spiderman and having starred in many Marvel films.

Holland was against tough competition such as Anya Taylor-Joy, Ruth Negga, Lucas Hedges and Laia Costa in 2017 for the Bafta Rising Star Award. To his delight, he won the award and became the youngest recipient in history of this prestigious title. His credentials do not stop there, having won awards from ceremonies such as Teen Choice Awards, Saturn Awards and Empire Awards among others.

New footage brings us a clip of Tom Holland in the upcoming project Cherry. The talented youth plays the role of Nico Walker, a college dropout who enrols in the army as a medic, who returns home as a war hero with many demons. The story portrays love and the battling of addictions, a role that perhaps may take Tom out of his comfort zone.

It is interesting to see how certain choices in the spur of a moment can have a butterfly effect which can alter the rest of an individual’s life. One dyeing question that fans would love to know is whether his on screen true love Emily (Ciara Bravo) will last throughout this compelling story.

Ciara Bravo is a renowned actress having starred in films such as To the Bone, The Long Dumb Road and hit tv shows Big Time Rush and Red Band Society where she played the role of Emma Chota an intelligent patient with anorexia who lives in a hospital’s paediatric ward, one would truly recommend the show.

A clip to the trailer of Cherry can be seen below, let me know what you think of ‘Cherry‘ by leaving your thoughts in the comment section.

The indie drama Cherry is directed by the Russo brothers, Anthony and Joseph who directed Avengers: Endgame, the highest grossing film of all time. The story hits home for the brothers as ‘Cherry‘ takes place in Cleveland where they grew up.

Cherry also stars Jack Reynor (Midsommar), Jeff Wahlberg (Future World), Forrest Goodluck (The Revenant), Daniel R.Hill (Rust Creek), Fionn O’Shea (Dating Amber), Sam Clemmett (Endeavour), Theo Barklem-Biggs (Make Up), Kaine Zajaz (Cursed) and Leo Woodall (Nomad).

Michael Rispoli and Michael Gandolfini who have worked together prior on the TV show The Deuce also star, and finally one of my favourite actresses from American Horror Story, Jamie Brewer, who played the iconic character of Nan.

Although Holland may be taking on the role as a rogue bank robber in dodgy clothing, we will always know him as the kind gentle man that he is, an advocate that is highly devoted to charitable work such as The Brother’s Trust and a truly stylish gent.

Holland’s style is not one to be challenged having been seen on many occasions, sporting looks by the renowned designer Joshua Kane who is known for having sold out shows in iconic venues such as The London Palladium and the Royal Exchange building.

The designer which is not afraid to challenge the status quo has worked with the likes of Asa Butterfield, Harrison Osterfield, Owen Joyner, Ciinderella Balthazar and last but not least Joel Dommett who presents The Masked Singer.

You can shop Joshua’s official collection here and if you are a gamer, you’ll be happy to know the designer is releasing a video game titled ‘Tailors Journey’ which is set in the late Victorian era.
