Tory Lanez has decided to rework Drake’s “Controlla”, probably generating good publicity for his upcoming works. He is set to be chock a block with touring, and he is finalising efforts upon his official debut album, I Told You. The latter, of which, is due to be released this coming year.
His interpretation of “Controlla” has a reggae esque vibe, both the vocals and the backdrop. There is some subtle rattle and clap to propel its rhythm. The singsong raps are both airy, floating and tightly packed. Intermittent bass is bottomless, like dancing low to the floor and your butt never hitting it.
