Turkish-British Designer Dilara Fındıkoğlu Unveils Fall/Winter 2023 Collection For London Fashion Week

Dilara Fındıkoğlu, a Turkish-born artist, plays with your emotions. She evokes an intensity that makes you feel what she is expressing in front of you by tugging at your heartstrings, making you feel her suffering, and pulling at your soul.

As part of London Fashion Week, the designer showed her newest collection for Fall/Winter 2023 in a chapel in East London, and it was nothing short of a masterclass on how to draw an audience in.

To the sound of stilettos slamming into hardwood flooring, Fındıkoğlu offered a skin-crawlingly tight and evocative display of sex and struggles for the collection. Using the drama of a trickling faucet this season, the designer attempted to combine a sense of solemnity and sensuality.

This might be interpreted as a metaphor for the collection, the desire for rebirth in humans, and the ability to draw strength from weakness. Fındıkoğlu wants her audience to feel feminine pain through the use of pointed objects, safety pins, torn tights, corsets, and chains.

If you tried to look away, the models would simply keep staring at you. Models conveyed sensuality, vivacity, and ghostliness while performing a dramatic choreography to the sound of stilettos slamming hardwood planks. They also made political, religious, and feminist comments.

It’s impossible to look at Fındıkoğlu’s collections without becoming fixated. The performances of others hanging to walls or taking a minute to themselves once more draw you in, but in a way that says we shouldn’t be looking. Models glance into the crowd’s eyes, heels strike the stone with a sharp sensuality, and heels hit the stone with a sharp sensuality. This is Fındıkoğlu’s power, which is manifested in her powerful features.

As Dilara always states; she takes her power from the country where she was born. She has repeated in many interviews after mind-blowing shows and collections that Istanbul inspires her unique style and also the iconic Dilara red -which you can find in the Turkish flag.

Fındıkoğlu was able to convey a sense of independence and ownership. Overall, it is safe to say that Fındıkoğlu delivered London Fashion Week a masterclass with delicate fabrics, attention to detail, intention, and beautiful structure behind designs.
