Unsigned Music Awards To Return In 2018 With Live Nation And The Great Escape | Music News

Following on from 2016’s successful Unsigned Music Awards, UMA Music have teamed up with Live Nation and Europe’s biggest festival for new music, The Great Escape to host the 2018 event.

The UMAs will take over the 4,000 capacity Brighton Centre to celebrate the UK’s most innovative and unique unsigned artists. The awards will take place on 16 May 2018 to kick off the 13th edition of The Great Escape. The nominees will be selected by UK’s leading influencers, booking agencies, promoters and festival partners.

Rory Bett, CEO of Mama Festivals and The Great Escape Festival says: “For the past 12 years The Great Escape has led the way in supporting upcoming talent, doing more than any other festival to get new and emerging bands onto the industry radar. Bringing the UMAs to The Great Escape is a perfect launch platform to the 2018 festival and just another way that we can continue to champion the music talent of the future”.

UMA will also be partnering with UNILAD Entertainment, one of the most viewed and most engaged pages in the world, to globally live stream the ceremony. The two-hour show will feature live performances from some of the hottest emerging acts on the UK scene, along with seventeen award presentations and a roster of celebrity hosts.

“We are excited to continue the growth of the Unsigned Music Awards as a platform to promote unsigned, self-signed and otherwise emerging artists, around the world. Opening Europe’s largest festival for new music with an award ceremony that recognises only new music makes perfect sense and we can’t think of a more suitable partner to bring this vision to life, than Live Nation”, Simon O’Kelly, CEO of UMA Music Group and the Unsigned Music Award said.
