Vice Media To Launch 24-Hour TV Channel In UK And Ireland | TV News
Vice Media is to set to make history, the company striking a non-exclusive deal to launch 12 TV Channels in a staggering 18 month period, the first in which will launch on Sky in the UK and Ireland. Vice Founder and Chief Executive Shane Smith intimated that talks had started with a large range of companies, from BT to Netflix, commenting:
“This is the biggest move yet in our long love affair with our British and Irish audience”, said Smith. “Viceland is going to give them a whole new way to experience Vice content – on their own televisions, around the clock”. The new channel, which will launch in September will be branded on TV as Viceland and will run 24 hours a day on Sky and Now TV.
