Virgil Abloh Confirmed As New Menswear Designer For Louis Vuitton | Fashion News

The new creative director of Louis Vuitton house is the founder of Off-White and the king of the sportswear luxury. The incomparable Virgil Abloh is from today the new creative director of the masculine division of the French house, a clear and evident sign that the streetwear has come to the luxury world to stay.

But, in this case, the Abloh appointment does not pose a rupture with its past collections: the British designer Kim Jones – who has recently started working as creative director for Dior Homme – had already introduced street style and sportswear inspiration in the ADN of the most famous luxurious house of the world.

Abloh promises to continue the legacy of the ambassador of the urban style Kim Jones while adding the conceptual touch that has given him the success.

Everything suggests that the American designer will continue with Off-White, the signature that he created in 2013 and that one year ago was in the third position on the list of the most important brands in the world.

The eclectic professional Abloh’s trajectory is another proof that the times have changed also in the fashion. In addition to his designer career, he studied architecture and civil engineering, is DJ, creates furniture and dominates the millennial crew collaborating with its favourite brands: his sneaker collaboration with Nike is already a part of the microhistory of the recent fashion.
