The thought of a live-action adaptation of a Walt Disney classic always gives us fans a little bit of anxiety. However, fear not, as this trailer couldn’t be more eye goggling! It seems the director, Jon Favreau, has ultimately captured the majestic beauty of the jungle. This may have been done so well as the movie is a CGI and live action hybrid – the animals are photorealistic computer-generate imagery, and this is placed well together with footage shot of the cast (in particular Mowgli).
The film has cast a fair few hollywood stars including – Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Scarlett Johansson, and Christopher Walken and Bill Murray who will portray our favourite bear – Baloo! Will we see a duet of “Bear Necessities” with Murray andNeel Sethi?! Probably not. But in the footage shown, Baloo is shown subtly humming the song to himself. A nice reference from the classic – which is good enough for me. Jungle Book will open in cinemas April 15, 2016. Watch the trailer here!
