Wesley Fuller, a devoutly independent talent from Melbourne, broke out in the UK earlier this year with radio anthem, “Melvista”. Set to release his debut EP via rejuvenated imprint, 1965 Records, the singer recently unveiled new cut, “Runaway Renee”.
The track kicks off with big, booming drums and ringing, Sixties chords with Beach Boys-esque pop and rock vocals. It veers from psychedelic pop and driving rock, and ending with a very chordal guitar melody come solo.
In terms of the visuals, it seems to start as a road trip, visiting the sights of Beach Boy life, everywhere conveying some aspect of Americana, regardless of whether filmed in the States or not.
