Wire are set to return with a brand new EP, Nocturnal Koreans, on Friday, April 22 through Pink Flag. The eight tracks are left over from sessions for last year’s self-titled effort, though these tracks are arguably of a totally different vein to that previous effort.
New single, “Internal Exile”, starts, and continues, with a cyclical guitar and swinging drums. The processed vocals might remind one of Peter Gabriel. The focus is on building atmosphere through simplicity, rather than anything overly complex you would expect from early era Genesis. However having said that that continuous riff is in a, odd time signature.
