Rapper Astro, who launched his career on the US X Factor in 2011, turns actor and stars in the trailer for upcoming film Earth To Echo. The science-fiction film is about a group of friends who start to receive encrypted messages on their mobile phones. Curious as to what it is, they follow the signal to discover an alien who seeks their aid.
The main cast includes Astro, Teo Halm, Reese Hartwig and Ella Wahlestedt, the film will be released through Walt Disney Studios and is directed by Dave Green. This is not Astro’s first acting experience, as soon after leaving the X Factor, he appeared in the crime-drama TV series Person Of Interest. It will appear in UK cinemas on July 25, 2014.
