Indian-Canadian Youtube Star Lilly Singh has been announced as the new host of NBC’s late-night talk show, replacing Carson Daly in September. Her 1:30am show will be retitled A Little Late with Lilly Singh. This makes her the only female host of a US late-night talk show on the so-called “Big Four” networks (NBC, ABC, CBS and Fox).
Singh, 30, announced her new show, while a guest on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon on Thursday. “I do have an announcement: Your girl is getting her own NBC late-night show,” Singh said. “I do think it’s a little awesome, as an Indian-Canadian woman.”
