Zoe Lister-Jones Comedy Series ‘SLIP’ Ordered By Roku

The Roku Channel have announced that they’ve ordered a new scripted comedy series from Zoe Lister-Jones. The show is called SLIP, and Lister-Jones will serve as creator while also directing and starring in every episode.

SLIP follows the story of a woman who finds herself traveling through parallel universes after she starts questioning her perfect marriage. The series will follow her as she travels from universe to universe and from relationship to relationship, trying to get back home to her partner.

The series will be produced by Boat Rocker and TeaTime Pictures, the latter being the production company founded by Dakota Johnson which just received rave reviews at Sundance for its films Am I OK? and Cha Cha Real Smooth. SLIP will be TeaTime Pictures’ first television series.

Colin Davis, the Head of Scripted Originals at Roku, said in a statement: Zoe Lister-Jones has written a truly fantastic show with SLIP. It was so easy to say yes to this project and we are thrilled to partner with Boat Rocker and TeaTime Pictures to bring SLIP to The Roku Channel.” Steve Lescroart, the President at Boat Rocker Studios, added:

SLIP is a wonderfully original series from the brilliant creative mind of Zoe Lister-Jones and we couldn’t be happier to partner with her, Roku and TeaTime to take viewers on a wildly funny and entertaining ride.” Katie O’Connell from TeaTime Pictures concluded by saying:

“Zoe is singular in her ability to tell a twisted, hilarious and unexpected love story. We are so happy to be partnered with Zoe, The Roku Channel and Boat Rocker on our first original series.”

Lister-Jones might be best known to audiences for her roles on sitcoms New Girl, Life In Pieces, and Whitney, but in recent years she’s shifted into the film world, writing/directing/starring in impressive musical comedy Band Aid and doing the same for recent comedy-drama How It Ends. She also helmed legacy sequel The Craft: Legacy.

She’s currently filming her role in Ari Aster‘s anticipated Midsommar follow-up, Disappointment Blvd., while she also has a role in Zach Braff‘s in-development drama A Good Person. The seven-episode season of SLIP will begin shooting this April in Toronto.
