Known for being one half of Everything But The Girl, Tracey Thorn has just announced a compilation album comprising of her solo work. Entitled SOLO: Songs and Collaborations 1982-2015, this 34-track double album features her best solo work, including collaborations with Massive Attack, Robert Wyatt, Hot Chip and more. As a solo artist, Thorn has released four albums, the last of which was 2012’s Tinsel And Lights.
Commenting on the album, Thorn said, “these tracks represent, on one hand, the moments when I was working as a solo artist outside the constraints and democracy of a band, either recording tracks entirely by myself, or at least being in the driving seat, the one making all the artistic decisions. And on the other hand, those times when I guested with other bands or producers, performing as a featured solo singer, moonlighting from my regular job“.
The album will be out on October 2013 through Caroline International. You can view the tracklisting and buy the album here. Watch the compilation’s trailer below.
