Brooke Candy‘s history in the music business is certainly a tortuous one: the Californian diva started as a futuristic warrior actress in Grimes‘ viral video for “Genesis”, and then proceeded in establishing her signature, all-gold Xena hip-hop princess throughout a series of singles released in 2012 and 2013. Collaborations with Lady Gaga’s ex-stylist Nicola Formichetti and hit-certified songwriter Sia took Brooke Candy to the pop world, unsuccessfully.
However, the freaky princess is now back on track with an explosive new look and sound: left behind the heavy synths, “N-A-S-T-Y” features a strong sax-infused instrumental and vaguely reminds of Christina Aguilera’s masterpiece Back to Basics.
Along with the single, she debuted the official video for the track, directed by critically-acclaimed fashion photographer Rankin: an explosion of wigs, strange outfits and colour is waiting for you from the moment you’ll press play!
