2017 was hailed as the year to finally break the curse of video games adaptations. Today we can have a look at the second trailer for Assassin’s Creed, which is shaping up to be this year’s top contender and see what Ubisoft’s been up to.
The story will see Michael Fassbender pull double duty (triple, if you count producing) as the lead role of Callum Lynch, an outlaw who happens to be a descendant of a mighty Spanish assassin, Aguilar de Nerha (Michael Fassbender).
He is noticed by a mysterious corporation who give him access to Animus, a weapon simulator, which lets him step into the shoes of his ancestors and learn their skills. If you are a fan of the game, as you can expect, a lot of parkour and combating ensues.
The film is helmed by Justin Kurzel (Macbeth) who will surely bring some breathtaking visuals. Aside from Michael Fassbender in the titular role, you can also expect to see Marion Cottilard, Jeremy Irons, Ariane Labed and Brendan Gleeson round up the cast. Assassin’s Creed will debut in the UK on January 1, 2017. Until then you can watch the trailer below and let us remind you: Do not try this at home!
