Set 20 years later and released 21 after the events from the first one, we finally have the first trailer for Danny Boyle’s follow-up to the 1997 hit, Trainspotting.
The footage offers a montage, which does a great job of reviving our nostalgia for the gang, which from the looks of it is back together. We have Renton (Ewan McGregor) coming back to Edinburgh and revisiting his old mates, Sick Boy (Johnny Lee Miller), Spud (Ewen Bremner) and Begbie (Robert Carlyle).
There is also Kelly Macdonald’s Diane who is charming as ever. A bit has changed since as there are new things to get obsessed with, like some Facebook thing going on with the chums nowadays. Look out for Irvine Welsch, who will be back as Mikey Forrester, as well as newcomer, Anjela Nedyalkova, as Nikki.
T2 Trainspotting, not to be confused with T2 Terminator, will arrive in theatres on Friday, January 27. For now, experience the trailer below:
