Korean girl group, T-ARA, made an explosive debut in 2009 with the single, “Lie”, and has since spawned a numerous amount of national hits, including “Bo Peep Bo Peep”, “You Drive Me Crazy”, “Roly-Poly”, “Cry Cry” and “Lovey-Dovey”. In 2012, the group hit a rough patch with allegations of internal discord and has since been unable to score a hit.
The group’s agency, MBK Entertainment, announced T-ARA’s comeback is set for May. Because the members’ contracts are now coming to a close, there was a high possibility this would be the group’s final album as six members. Though MBK tried to sound optimistic about T-ARA’s future, an insider revealed to Xports News earlier today that several members had decided not to renew their contracts.
MBK later confirmed the report with further details.
“This is MBK Entertainment’s official announcement on T-ARA’s contract renewal. As reported, T-ARA’s Boram and Soyeon’s contracts will end on May 15. The other members Qri, Eunjung, Hyomin and Jiyeon have renewed their contracts until the end of December this year, and they will continue on with their dramas, personal activities and overseas activities”.
Following the upcoming album’s promotion, T-ARA will officially disband.
