Sudan Archives is a soulful fiddler, birth name Brittney Denise Parks. However, once her mother gave her the nickname “Sudan”, the LA born musician begged for it to be changed.
The violin was always a strong passion for Archives, performing within the school orchestra and other music groups. Improving her talent daily, she quickly fell in love with the sound of West African Folk Music and learned about it in great detail through books and YouTube videos.
This research not only influenced the way she played, but also her sense of fashion. She wears a range of Ghanaian garments, creating a look of contemporary minimalism which part of can be seen below:
The musician explained how her first trip to Ghana began her current look. With an exotic mix of West African traditional clothing from high established Los Angeles designers, her style is a portrayal of all things she loves most. She includes a range of bold bright colours, prints, and incorporates a lot of scarves into her daily look.
