U2 unveil their new single “You’re The Best Thing About Me” from their upcoming album titled Songs of Experience. It is the second song that U2 have shared recently. The band unveiled the track “The Blackout” last week.
The new U2 record includes contributions from Royal Blood, OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder, Jacknife Lee and many others.
Speaking about Songs of Experience Bono said: The elections were a shock to the system personally and a shock to the system politically, not just in America but in Europe. This is my lyrical response to both of those shocks. I leaned more on the personal than the political, but the political is there to put the personal songs in the context of time, of history” The Edge added his thoughts on the LP: “On this record, we went, ‘Is it going to be played by people in a bar in 25 years?’”
“You’re the Best Thing About Me” is a rock song, with a stand-out guitar solo, that talks about romantic dissatisfaction.
