Over the past few years, Asics have worked with many brands. Their last collaboration was with the Dutch streetwear and sneaker boutique Patta for the GEL-Lyte III. Now Asics has just released a new silhouette of sneakers, in collabortion with the Aussie retailer Highs and Lows.
The GEL-Mai collection dubbed the Submariner has just been released and they come packed with naval influences. Indeed, this model is given a premium leather and suede upper in shades of dark navy and slate blue for a nautical aesthetic, inspired by submarines and their staffs in the Australian army.
The upper also features a heathered navy neoprene for the tongue and lateral side, while the medial side features micro-ripstop. For a stealthy, hidden detail, a raised morse code print across the taping of the tongue reads HAL.
