After the timely release of her most recent single and a return to the limelight, Ojerime follows through, sharing her brand new video to her eclectic track “I Know Now“. The next chapter since her 2016 fang2001 EP is definitely starting well.
The video is a visual representation of the smokey vocalist’s highly varied musical palette, shot against the nightscapes of the capital. Ojerime and her accomplis Raj Forever are like a Bonnie & Clyde duo but a lot more street. The video is artistic and urban, filled with graffiti, vintage clothes and council flat lifts.
The song in itself is beautiful, Nostalgic R&B, interwoven with ambient electro and loosely injected with nineties swing-beat making her sound a millennial hybrid. The self-made soulster’s noughties-Aaliyah tone is peppered with homegrown idioms and delivered with a South London vernacular. The video is a must watch, so press play below.
