“That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind“. In First Man, the youngest-ever winner of the Best Director Academy Award Damien Chazelle takes his La La Land star Ryan Gosling to space for a biopic about world-famous American astronaut Neil Armstrong.
The must-see first trailer for the highly-anticipated film features intense images of Gosling’s Amstrong as he gets ready for the dangerous and allegedly impossible journey that will eventually make him the first person to walk on the moon in 1969.
Produced by Universal Pictures and Dreamworks, and executive produced by Steven Spielberg, First Man is adapted from James R. Hansen‘s book by Josh Singer, the writer who got an Oscar for Chazelle’s Spotlight.
Gosling’s co-stars include The Crown‘s Claire Foy, who plays Armstrong’s first wife Janet Shearon, as well as Jason Clarke, Corey Stoll — starring as second man to walk on the moon Buzz Aldrin — and Friday Night Lights star Kyle Chandler, portraying a NASA staffer.
First Man will be released on October 12. Watch the trailer below.
