Fast-rising East London rapper BAGZ first burst onto the scene earlier this year with his underground hit ‘Snapchat’, which was then followed up with the fan-favourite ‘Popular Person’, garnering support from the likes of Spotify, Capital Xtra, GRM Daily and Link Up TV, along the way. Today, he returns with the brand new music video for his latest single “Vibes” featuring South London singing sensation and MOBO Award nominee Moelogo.
Produced by Stevie BB Beatz, whose previous production credits including working with Not3s, Mostack, Big Tobz and Afro B, among others, “Vibes” automatically takes you back to the summer with its sun-drenched backdrop, Moelogo’s smooth vocals and Bagz’s melodious and infectious rap flow. The video sees Bagz collaborating with Andrew Moss (Yxng Fume, Mista Silva, SL) to deliver a fun and colourful visual affair that brings the record further to life.
Speaking about the inspiration behind “Vibes”, Bagz says, “I wrote the record over the summer. Everyone was having the most fun and enjoying the heat wave, there were loads of parties and BBQs bringing everyone together, and I just wanted to make a song about what I was experiencing at that moment, which was nothing but good vibes! I was excited for the opportunity to work with Moelogo. For me, this is a massive thing because I look up to him, and now I’ve got a song with him”.
With Skepta, Fela Kuti, and Big Narstie serving as some of his biggest influences, Bagz is proving to be a massively talented rapper, who continues to show his extensive ability and hit-making credentials, first with “Snapchat” and “Popular Person”, and now with “Vibes”, which is sure to propel the Hackney native even higher in stature. Following on from “Vibes”, Bagz is gearing up to release his debut EP this Christmas, leading into the New Year, as one to watch for 2019.
