Having recently announced his debut EP Roll With Me, set to be released on November 2, singer/songwriter Josh Goddard emerges with his silky second offering “Hear My Cry“.
A slower, smoother jam, “Hear My Cry” delivers a sensitive vulnerability within Josh’s signature gravel-flecked vocal that is perfectly accentuated by gospel-esque backing vocals and a full horn section. On the track Josh states: “’Hear My Cry’ was my interpretation of a gospel tune. A bit of a sad story with an emphasis on mental health and love that evolves with a happy resolution.”
Josh’s debut body of work features four new tracks recorded at Parr Street Studios, including his most recent single “Roll With Me”. New single “Hear My Cry” highlights the versatility in Josh’s songwriting and his raw vocal ability, adding modern pop sensibilities whilst keeping true to his soul and R&B influences.
Having picked up support from the likes of BBC Introducing, Josh has played major festival slots at Kendal Calling and Dot To Dot Festival as well as supporting legendary R&B singer Martha Reeves. Josh released his first single “Sunday Sun” in April and now looks push on with the release of the Roll With Me EP.
