Liam Bailey – You Saw The Devil in Me | Music Video

Soul musician Liam Bailey is marching on with his highly anticipated comeback as he gears up to release his fourth studio EP Brand New in February. For now, he double backs with the EP’s excellent second single “You Saw The Devil In Me” and its accompanying visuals.

Produced by frequent collaborator Rich Cooper, whose previous production credits include work for Banks, Lucy Rose, Billie Marten and Tom Odell, “You Saw The Devil In Me” is an introspective and thought-provoking piano ballad backed by strings and choral backing vocals, with Liam Bailey bares his all about his inner demons.

Partnering with James Beale, who directed the video for his recent single “Brother, Why You Gotta Love Her” with Maverick Sabre, the visuals are cast in Bulgaria and are stripped back, allowing for the record to take centre stage and grip the audience.

Speaking about the inspiration for the single, Liam Bailey shared: “I was trying to find a calm quiet space to think. At the time I was finding it hard to be real in my writing. The lyrics came about after quite an intense therapy session, where I was forced to be introspective and face difficult truths about how I’d been living.”

“For the video, I was performing in Bulgaria, and once we saw how beautiful the country was, it made sense to film there – it feels introspective but there’s hope in it, and the sunrise landscape gives it a sense of rebirth as well.”
