One of the most recognisable faces in British music, Grime pioneer Dizzee Rascal returned to the fray when he dropped the brilliant Don’t Gas Me EP to much acclaim. Now, one of the fan favourites on the project gets the visual treatment as he unveils the new music video for “Quality“.
As “Quality” samples the classic 1992 hardcore track “The Sound Of Music” by Nookie, it comes as no surprise that the creative direction for the visuals carry the same old school theme. Directed by Joel Spencer, we see Dizzee in and around his old East London stomping grounds.
The visuals carry the essence of yesteryears, from the outfits, to the classic Mercedes; the nostalgia from the early rap cyphers to just kicking it on the stairs of the estate. Dizzee brings the energy and unmistakable lyricism to the laid back re-work of this underground classic and it’s great to watch and listen.
