Solange Graces The New Cover Of Office Magazine | Music News

Earlier this month Solange, younger sister of Beyoncé and the cult hero of the Knowles clan, released her long awaited new record (and accompanying film), When I Get Home. To celebrate its release, Office decided to chose her to blaze the cover of their magazine. The striking spread, shot by Renell Medrano, sees the singer-songwriter pair her eclectic style with a more risqué aesthetic.

For the magazine’s tenth issue, Solange was given an exclusive exam where she talked about shedding old skin, revising through exploration & transformation, and ranked her favorite Real Housewives of Atlanta cast.

This isn’t her first cover this month. She also recently caught up with i-D to discuss her recent release, explaining some background on her process of creating When I Get Home.

Over the last couple of years I’ve thought a lot about origin,” Solange told i-D. “How much we’ve taken with us versus how much we’ve left behind and a lot of that had to do with coming home and working out the answer to that spiritually through and around me.”

“Coming off my last shows performing A Seat at the Table, my body was not responding how I wanted it to, and I think it’s interesting how your body can tell you what you need to do at a present time.”

Also When I Get Home debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200, where it moved 43,000 equivalent album units in its first week. 11,000 of those units were in actual pure album sales. Solange previously earned her first No. 1 album with A Seat at the Table when the project eventually catapulted to the top of the charts on October 22, 2016.
