Following on from last year’s acclaimed comeback single ‘Clock The Sauce’, which was released via GRM Daily and went on to garner over 100,000 plays, exciting up and coming East London rapper K.G 1001 returns with his first offering of 2019 and brand new single ‘Vybz & Bubble’, which was premiered via Complex, and is taken from his forthcoming EP, which is due to be released this August.
You might remember K.G 1001 as Kid Gospel, the teenage rapper who was causing quite the stir with his critically acclaimed 2014 EP ‘Nu Skool’, which was championed by MTV Wrap Up, GRM Daily, Flavour Magazine, Music Crowns, Link Up TV, SBTV, and the MOBO Awards, among others. ‘Vybz & Bubble’ and ‘Clock The Sauce’ before it are his first official singles under his new K.G 1001 moniker.
Written by K.G 1001, with promising British Nigerian singer and songwriter Crown featured on the chorus, his ‘Vybz & Bubble’ offering is a catchy UK rap track with exciting Afroswing sensibilities, which sees K.G 1001 highlighting his unique and infectious melodic rap flow that will have you rapping along excitedly, over the sparse minimalist musical backdrop, led by lush keyboard and drum arrangements.
Speaking about the inspiration for ‘Vybz & Bubble’, K.G 1001 says, “Ultimately, I wanted to create something that people could ‘vybz & bubble’ to. It is what works best when I go out with my mates, whether it’s a festival or the club or at a concert, all the fun is being had when the crowd just vybz and bubble! Most people, myself included, just want to have a bit of fun, dance, sing a track out loud, and that’s what I was trying to offer with this track”.
