Following the shocking announcement about Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus’ separation, the international music star has released a surprise heartbreaking single titled “Slide Away”.
Last Sunday, Cyrus and Hemsworth left everyone shocked after they announced their breakup and rumour has it Miley decided to leave him after she got tired of Liam’s constant consume of alcohol and certain drugs. Even though this was told by a source close to Miley, Hemsworth’s friends have totally denied that was true.
On Tuesday, Hemsworth made a statement about it, saying “Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward. This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love”.
Now, Miley has decided to open up about the recent news through a very emotional new track, which seems to be an official statement about the end of the relationship. In “Slide Away”, she addresses the breakdown of her marriage, singing ”Move on, we’re not 17, I’m not who I used to be. You say that everything changed, you’re right, we’re grown now”.
Through her new track, the artist also seems to confirm the rumours about Liam’s ‘partying’ vibes that where a total dealbreaker for her. “I want my house in the hills, don’t want the whiskey and pills. I don’t give up easily, but I don’t think I’m down”.
Miley’s soulful, raspy voice is accompanied by melancholic acoustic guitar chords playing over a snappy beat in this moving, heartbreaking track.
