Pop artists The Weeknd and Ariana Grande have just unveiled their animated music video for the remix of the hit single “Save Your Tears”, featuring a fresh new pop verse from Ariana. We can see both artists being in a futurist animated version of themselves in the video.
The music video was directed by Jack Brown and the production was done by Blinkink. It is an animated video but starts with a view that looks a lot like a landscape straight from Arizona and with the red-jacketed character taking what looks like Ariana’s face.
It continues with the song in the background, and we see the construction of Ariana’s body, face and outfit to the liking to the red-jacketed character. The view then keeps going into a very sci-fi-based landscape and storyline.
Regards the song itself, Ariana’s verse adds a fresh new touch to the single but it is the same hit track, just even better. This collaboration is at least the third time The Weeknd and Ariana Grande have worked together, having previously worked together on his 2014 song “Love Me Harder” and then with her track “Off The Table”.
Even before this remix with pop star Ariana Grande, “Save Your Tears” was one of the most successful songs from one of the most successful albums of the past decade from The Weeknd. Indeed it is certified double platinum and has surpassed 1 billion streams.
Both artists, even with the pandemic, have had a great year musically, topping various charts and breaking streaming records, like for The Weeknd and his “Blinding Lights”, it was the fastest song to reach 2 billion streams in Spotify history and is one of only four tracks to hit that mark.
