On 12th March, Fears released her new single titled “16“.
Fears, whose real name is Constance Keane, is a rising Irish artist and musician who produces her own music.
The singer has gained popularity through live shows such as Other Voices, Body & Soul, Quarter Block Party, but also with concerts appearance with Girls Names, Epicycle and Carla dal Forno.
She had also the opportunity to perform at the Irish Embassy in London’s St Brigid’s Day Event during the lockdown, challenging the live music barriers.
The likes of Huck Magazine, BBC Arts and The Irish Independent have also been praising Fears for her songs. In 2019, she was also selected to take part in the the Moving on Music’s Emerging Artist Programme.
Fears debuted with the album Oíche, which described the journey of live with instability and relationship changes. Oíche tracks are closely linked to Fears personal life. While she was recorded the opener “h_always”, she was regained from trauma and health facility. Whereas, “tonnta” is dedicated to her ageing grandmother.
Her new single “16” featuring her close friend Sophie Gwen Williams comes with music video directed by Zoe Greenway from punk band M(h)aol.
Her style can be described as a mix of reflective electronics, acoustic samples, and haunting vocals with organic visuals, and the audience is welcomed to take part in her ethereal journey, trapped between music and visual art.
Her simple description of feelings leads her to make it intimate and common at the same time.
