Introducing Australia-born and Nashville-based multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and producer Saint Rien, with his new single titled “Tisci”.
This new single comes on the back of his latest project l’annee, which was released last year with singles such as “Sober Now” and “Medusa”, and garnered support from tastemakers such as Wonderland and Flaunt.
The track is an up-beat genre-bending single with a twist, featuring Saint’s raspy vocals over the song’s jazzy keys and perfectly placed electro textures. Lyrically, Saint Rien rails against the people that have doubted him, and he sings openly about being slept on.
The song demonstrates Rien’s strong songwriting skills, while the instrumental and soundscape create a subtle lo-fi, indie, and hip-hop feel.
Saint Rien began his musical journey in high school as part of Australian post-hardcore band Storm The Sky, and he was the band’s lead singer and songwriter for eight years. The band broke up in 2018 and he morphed into Saint Rien, taking inspiration from Tyler The Creator, Thom Yorke and Jeff Buckley.
He returns to the forefront last year with the l’annee project that saw him deliver 12 singles over 12 months as well as two EPs tackling themes around relationships, depression and anxiety.
“Tisci” marks the next step for the rising artist.
