R&B singer-songwriter Aqyila has always been committed to bringing peace through music and to upholding people through her art. Her most recent single, “OH!,” was released by Sony Music Entertainment Canada and combines soulful tunes with snappy hooks to give listeners a full vibe.
Aqyila seizes her broken heart and delivers a strong message about loving oneself throughout the powerful R&B record. “Oh!” was so amazing and fluid to make,” Aqyila says. “That’s the beauty of music; when you hear a song and can associate it with a memory, it becomes even more meaningful to you. I enjoy it when a song tells a story“.
“OH! ” was recorded during Aqyila’s second trip to Los Angeles after signing with Sony Music Canada. “This song will showcase my vocal range, which is exciting because I love a good riff and run,” she explained. “During my second trip to Los Angeles, this song was produced by Phinisey and written by the talented Trey Campbell!”
On this record, Aqyila worked with pensman Trey Campbell (Ella Mai, HER, Giveon, John Legend) and producer Phinisey (Jessie Reyez, Qveen).
Following her last single “Pressure”, Aqyila’s new single “OH!” sets the mood for what’s to come for the R&B singer. She intends to put together a cohesive project that embraces “uplifting vibes, love songs, self-reflection, and a bit of heartbreak” as part of her upcoming EP.
The Toronto-based rising star has expressed her delight at the upcoming release of “OH!” describing it as a song meant to embolden people who believe they’re worthy in relationships.
