San Francisco Group Waters of March Unveil New Single ‘Red Madrone’

Music collective Waters of March have released “Red Madrone“, the second single from their forthcoming self-titled EP, due for release on April 7.”Red Madrone” follows the previous single “Blue Lilacs“.

A broad variety of musical influences, such as jazz, classical, indie, indie rock, and many other genres, were explored when the project was founded. The song “Red Madrone” combines Petra Haden‘s mesmerising vocals with a cold, sensuous background. The album is enhanced by hazy, almost ethereal pop melodies infused with soothing blues tones.

Originally an airy guitar composition, “Red Madrone” evolved into an improvisation between Phil and Chris. Chris’ lyrics explore memories of his father’s mountain home in the Sierra Nevada through the song’s free musical framework. The song expresses a gloomy emotional condition as it brings back childhood memories and makes peace with the past.

Chris Connolly on piano and Phil Carney on guitar make up the duo Waters of March, which has a project that include guest vocals by Petra Haden.

Chris had expert instruction in classical piano from Julian White, Marc Steiner, and Sharon Mann.

Phil has a wealth of expertise in alternative rock in addition to studying jazz and classical guitar and having a comprehensive understanding of guitar performance and composition. Petra Haden is an acclaimed jazz vocalist and the daughter of jazz legend Charlie Haden.

They were situated in San Francisco and operated initially as Desertshore. Together, these musicians provide an original fusion of dreamy sounds.

We look forward to listening to their next EP, and in the meantime, you can listen to their new single below:
