Matt LeFait, a Canadian Christian worship leader renowned for his devotion and artistic prowess, presents his latest musical creation, “You are Peace”. This new track emerged from a challenging period in his life, a time that led him to question not just his faith but also the loyalty of those he trusted.
Upon receiving news that sparked this period of turmoil, LeFait found himself drawn to his music studio. Seated at his desk, he began asking God the difficult questions that were weighing on his heart.
From a young age, LeFait was an active participant in his home church’s worship activities. By his teens, he was frequently leading worship and was eager to form a band named Rekoncyle, which would eventually become the most successful group he fronted.
LeFait was a key contributor to Rekoncyle, co-writing every song for the band’s two full-length albums and one worship project. The band gained popularity, performing in churches, at festivals, and touring from the Maritime provinces to Ontario.
His fervor for music and ministry led to a decision in 2018 to place Rekoncyle on hiatus so he could concentrate on his ministry-oriented goals. LeFait’s debut solo project was the song “Victory”, a collaboration with New Brunswick hip-hop artist One8Tea. This track later earned a nomination for a Canadian Covenant award.
At Kings Church, his home congregation, LeFait wears many hats – he leads worship, serves as the youth music director, and is an active community member. With an ever-present drive to create, Matt is continually writing and releasing new music and maintains a vibrant presence on social media.
