Dream-pop duo Tiny Ghosts makes a powerful return with their latest single, “Swoon” This shimmering track is a true ode to the intoxicating heights of love, drawing its essence from the depths of artist Dayan Marquina’s heart. With lush guitars, ethereal synths, and Marquina’s dreamy vocals, “Swoon” evokes the feeling of being utterly enchanted by someone.
“Swoon” was produced and mixed by Jesse Clasen (known for his work with Foreign Air and HRVRD) and mastered by Dan Millice. The track highlights Tiny Ghosts’ signature sound, a unique blend of emo-tinged lyricism and indie-pop sensibilities.
With its driving rhythm and soaring melodies, the song creates a soundscape that perfectly complements Marquina’s evocative vocals, capturing the vulnerability and euphoria of falling deeply in love.
Dayan Marquina describes “Swoon” as an attempt to capture the vertigo of love: “This love was a freefall. ‘Swoon’ is my effort to get the sound of that plunge out of my head — the terror and the ecstasy, being completely surrendered to that feeling.” Eric Morgan adds: “We aimed to create a soundscape that mirrors the feeling of being effortlessly captivated by someone, upbeat and moving fast, with a bit of chaos.”
Tiny Ghosts was formed in 2020, the creative union of Dayan Marquina (vocals, lyrics) and Eric Morgan (guitar, production). The duo draws inspiration from 2000s pop-punk/emo bands like Further Seems Forever and AFI, as well as dreamy indie acts like CHVRCHES and Beach House. This combination of influences has allowed them to develop a unique musical language, consisting of melancholic anthems over lush, driving backdrops.
Tiny Ghosts’ return with “Swoon” marks a significant moment in their artistic journey, continuing to captivate their audience with their distinctive style and sincere emotions.
Don’t miss this unique musical experience and let yourself be carried away by the duo’s enchanting sounds.
