New Orleans-based singer-songwriter Danielle Dennis has released her new single titled “Fool’s Gold” on August 9, 2024. This track marks the first release from her forthcoming debut EP, which will be available later this year.
Danielle Dennis, who has spent years performing with cover bands, was inspired to create original music following a significant breakup. “Fool’s Gold” reflects her journey through this personal turmoil, drawing on her experiences and influences.
Raised in Northern California with a deep appreciation for classic rock, especially Fleetwood Mac, Danielle infuses “Fool’s Gold” with an organic classic rock sound that builds to a powerful, emotional climax.
The song is characterized by its blues rock feel and features dynamic guitar work by Eric Anduha and percussion by Rob Brennan. Danielle and Anduha focused on balancing simplicity with emotional depth to ensure the vocals stand out.
The production process took place in Danielle’s historic 200-year-old home in the French Quarter of New Orleans, where the music was written and recorded, adding a personal touch to the project.
Danielle’s upcoming EP will explore themes of grief and self-rebuilding, with “Fool’s Gold” setting the tone for the emotional journey ahead. The EP will showcase a variety of musical influences, ranging from trip-hop to experimental folk.
In addition to her music, Danielle has a background in live performance, having danced with Fleetmac Wood, and has a strong connection to the music industry through hosting and stage managing shows. She is excited to step into the spotlight with her original music, aiming to connect with listeners through her heartfelt and vulnerable songwriting.
