UK Rap Artist And Producer Jay Prince Reveals New Single ‘New Day’

Jay Prince, a Newham-born singer-rapper-producer, has released his uplifting single “New Day,” prior to his performance at the London Jazz Festival. The track showcases themes of faith, patience and resilience, encouraging his listeners to let go of what they cannot control.

His poetic lyrics emphasize that despite life’s burdens, new days bring fresh opportunities for healing and growth. “New Day” showcases renewal, self-confidence and the ability to overcome setbacks, complemented by Ken Samson’s euphoric production.

Jay, born to Angolan and Congolese parents in East London, started his musical journey in the church, finessing at the piano, bass and guitar. His love for poetry and the Newham rap culture intensified his love for music during his teens. He leaned towards rap and beat-making, crafting music on DAWs like Fruity Loops.

The multi-skilled artist debuted in 2015 with his mixtape Before Our Time, including hits like “Smile Good” and “Father Father.” His 2017 project Late Summers, featuring Shakka, Amine and Mahalia, established him further. The following year, Cherish included the hit “In The Morning,” surpassing over 20 million streams.

After being in LA for 4 years, he collaborated with artists like Tyler, The Creator and Goldlink, gaining international acclaim. His recent project, SOL VOL. 3, finished a trilogy, focusing on themes of optimism.

Jay also founded Lounge in Sounds, promoting authentic culture, and teaches songwriting at LCCM.
