Volz and Cozyfue’s duo MoonHSE, based in North Carolina, has dropped their new tune, “Rome.” This song, which combines elements of hip-hop, psych rock, and alt-R&B, shows a further growth in their sound. Volz and Cozyfue, who are well-known for their genre-bending production, have immediately became well-known for their own style of music.
“Rome” is a song about self-reflection, growth, and the complexities of love. The track features a smooth, laid-back vibe underpinned by their signature production and vocals. The production incorporates elements of psych rock with an alt-R&B twist, providing a rich, textured sound that builds over the course of the song.
When it comes to the lyrics, “Rome” delves into the idea of individual journeys and the emotional experiences we experience in pursuit of interpersonal connections. its infectious hooks and reflective verses make the piece a standout.
Volz, an artist, producer, and engineer from Winston-Salem, is well-known for fusing jazz, funk, hip-hop, house, and rock to create a sound that is all his own. His earlier compositions, such It’s Up To You (2021) and Moon in the Morning (2023), show that he is capable of creating music that is deeply personal.
Cozyfue, formerly known as Benji EZA, has been a producer and performer for more than ten years. His experimental approach to production, initials combining pop, R&B, and hip-hop elements with ethereal, spacey soundscapes. As a producer, Cozyfue has influenced the music landscape in North Carolina by working on projects with musicians such as OG Spliff and Flower in Bloom.
For Volz and Cozyufe, the creation of MoonHSE was a logical step. Their early collaboration paved the way for further projects, including the production of “Lets Get Wid” with Tia Corine and “Flower In Bloom”. MoonHSE debut their self-titled album, MoonHSE on November 28th this year.’Rome’ offers a preview of what’s to come from the album, giving fans something to look forward and an opportunity to explore other tracks as-well.
