Renowned singer Allan Palacios Chan ushers in the festive season with his enchanting new album, Christmas is Here, released on November 29, 2024.
This deeply personal and richly textured project is a celebration of tradition, nostalgia, and artistic innovation, blending classic holiday themes with Chan’s operatic expertise and modern flair. Co-created with acclaimed producer Leo Z, the album combines cinematic, pop, and theatrical elements, showcasing Chan’s versatility and passion for Italian culture.
The title track, “Christmas is Here (Il Natale é qua),” co-written with Leo Z and lyricist Franco Marino, anchors the album with a heartfelt blend of English and Italian lyrics. Inspired by Chan’s childhood Christmas memories in New Jersey and Virginia, the song captures the joy and sentimentality of the holiday season.
Featuring a children’s chorus performed by his nieces and nephews, the track is a harmonious mix of timeless warmth and fresh energy. Chan explains, “This song encompasses everything we wanted for this album…a sense of nostalgia and a sound that feels both familiar and new.”
Beyond the title track, the album delivers a stunning array of holiday classics, including “O Holy Night,” “Coventry Carol/What Child is This,” and a poignant rendition of “Little Drummer Boy.” The latter is accompanied by a visually striking short film shot in the Philippines, honoring the cultural heritage of the T’boli Dream Weavers.
Recorded at Los Angeles’ iconic Village Studios and mastered by Grammy-winning engineer Eric Boulanger, Christmas is Here features collaborations with Grammy-winning singer Helena Buscema and an ensemble of world-class musicians.
Chan’s extensive background in opera, jazz, and theater infuses each track with depth and authenticity. His collaboration with Leo Z—known for his work with Andrea Bocelli and Josh Groban—adds a cinematic richness, creating an album that bridges the intimacy of tradition with the grandeur of modern production.
