LAMBERT, the electro-pop project of London-based producer and songwriter Grace Lambert, is back with her emotionally charged new single, “Used To Be.” The Single dives into the complexities of love and self-doubt, and captures the internal struggle between wanting to embrace something new and being held back by past experiences.
LAMBERT explains, “It’s about the push and pull of wanting to embrace something new but being held back by past failures.” The song’s lyrics explore the fear of falling in love again, questioning whether something that feels good can really be trusted after being hurt before.
The track blends catchy pop elements with an evolving soundscape, building from a simple hook to a more powerful, emotional ending. “Used To Be” produces a captivating and compelling listening experience with its rich synths, vocal, and a powerful bass line.
LAMBERT’s debut EP, Human Nature, will be released in February 2025 and explores themes of disconnection, melancholy, and lost futures.The EP looks at how modern society has failed to achieve the idealized visions of the past. It explores how these unfulfilled dreams have led to a cultural obsession with nostalgia and vintage aesthetics, all revolving around the theme of ‘lost futures’.
This version eliminates repetition and maintains a smooth, cohesive structure. LAMBERT fuses 80s-inspired elements with futuristic vocal effects, both sonically and lyrically, creating a distinct atmosphere throughout the EP.
