Fresh talent Ella Conder has released her new single “Temporary” in collaboration with her friend and fellow student from her university, Benn, with whom Ella co-wrote the song.
Temporary describes itself as a cinematic, chill-rap track that explores themes of experiencing anxiety and navigating mental health issues as a young adult, and boasts itself proudly to be a means of support for people experiencing similar problems all the while being decorated with beautiful soundscapes and melodies.
The track came into fruition during Ella and Benn’s time at university in Leeds, where their mutual passion for music and storytelling brought them together into this magical collaboration. They wanted to create something that not only reflects the challenges of mental health but also offers a sense of solidarity and understanding for anyone who might be feeling the same.
Conder is a 21-year-old musician based in Leeds. She writes and produces her electrifying tracks from her uni bedroom, and is influenced by SMYL, Billie Eilish, and film scores. Writing is her way of zooming out and making sense of chaos.
The song seamlessly blends Benn’s contemplative lyrics and Ella’s soulful melodies, and draws inspiration from the works of Lana Del Rey, Loyle Carner and Olivia Dean, infusing the track with cinematic qualities. The track combines Ella’s lush vocals and Benn’s dynamic rap style to deliver the perfect blend of magic.
