The Altons, a prominent group in the West Coast ‘Souldies’ movement based in Los Angeles, recently released their new single, “Del Cielo te Cuido” (‘I’ll Take Care of You from Heaven’).
This romantic bolero genre takes listeners on a soulful journey, showcasing the band’s signature harmonious vocals and delicate instrumentation, setting the tone for their much-anticipated debut album Heartache in Room 14, which includes the track and is set for release on February 14, 2025, via Daptone Records.
“Del Cielo te Cuido” infuses the best elements of Latin and soul music, giving the contemporary soul scene a renewing and nostalgic flavor. The song begins with gentle guitar chords that create a calming atmosphere, which are soon followed by the catchy harmonies of Adriana Flores and Bryan Ponce, the front-persons.
The intimate and genuine element that has proven essential to The Altons’ sound is captured by the smooth interaction of their voices. This song feels like a timeless classic due to the emotions portrayed in the melody, which flows easily and evokes memories of childhood afternoons spent listening to the radio while grandparents told tales of romance and love.
The song’s Latin influence is palpable, with its bolero rhythm and soft guitar riffs creating a smooth yet evocative atmosphere. Additionally, the band’s use of Spanish lyrics is a natural extension of their evolving sound, establishing a new chapter in their career and enhancing their artistic identity.
They are known for their vibrant performances, The Altons’ journey from local nightclubs to major festival stages—including Austin City Limits, Montreal Jazz Festival, and Corona Capital. With the release of Heartache in Room 14, they are poised to take their music to another level, infused with more emotion and capturing audiences across the globe with their unique sound and powerful storytelling.
The Altons are set to perform a trio of California shows with Chicano Batman before closing out the year in Europe. Extensive worldwide touring is planned for 2025, including stops at major festivals like Cross The Tracks and Red Rooster Festivals in the UK.
