Legendary Britpop band Blur, who recently reunited after 12 years for the release of their eighth studio album The Magic Whip, spoke to the Mail On Sunday ahead of their headlining show at Hyde Park this week. When the band’s guitarist Graham Coxon was asked where he stands on TV singing contests, he replied “Stage left with a machine gun“, adding that, “in the past TV talent shows provided entertainment, but they didn’t promise anybody a career. I don’t believe in the devil, but the X Factor is the devil’s work“.
